摘要: Resilient operation of medium/large scale off-grid energy systems, which is a key challenge for crisis solutions, requires continuous and sustainable resources. Conventionally, micro grids (MEGs) are adopted to supply electricity thermal simultaneously. Fossil-fired gensets, such as diesel generators, indispensable components MEGs due the intermittent nature renewable sources (RESs). However, fossil-fired gensets emit significant amount greenhouse gases (GHGs). Therefore, this study investigates an alternative source economical environmental replacement that can reduce GHG emissions ensure system reliability. A MEG developed in paper support considerably large-scale electric demand at Ontario Tech University (UOIT). Different sizes RESs, solar, wind, hydro, biomass, combined applications. To evaluate gensets’ competency, genset substituted by emission-free generation named microreactor (MR). The MR-based optimized intelligent optimization technique, namely particle swarm (PSO). objective PSO minimize net present cost (NPC). simulation results show could be excellent terms NPC selected performance indicators (KPIs). comprehensive sensitivity analysis also carried out validate results.
