摘要: Using the re-orientation effect in Coulomb excitation, quadrupole moment, Q2+, of first excited state 18O is found to be -0.100+or-0.030 eb. The analysis assumes, on basis previous measurements, that B(E2; 0+ 2+)=0.0044+or-0.0004 e2b2. A correction (+0.032 eb) for giant dipole resonance, based hydrodynamic model, has been applied. Evidence presented some other determinations Q2, were performed at too high a bombarding energy. present value Q2+ smaller magnitude than reported by Kleinfeld et al. (1975) but remains larger -0.034 eb predicted recent shell-model calculation.
