摘要: Abstract Skid-resistance is one of the most important pavement surface properties with respect to driver safety. For example, friction asphalt concrete mixtures continuously evolves because aggregates are subjected polishing by rubber tires. Currently available tests for mix design optimization focused primarily on evaluating characteristics aggregate surfaces rather than actual AC mixtures. Factors such as gradation cannot directly be taken into account in tests, and hence its effects overall not accounted when mixes being designed. Using Skid Resistance Interface Testing Device (SR-ITD ® ), developed laboratory use during European project SKIDSAFE, evolving frictional containing any desired combination type, maximum size can evaluated. The number wheel passes combinations contact pressure speed documented. During SR-ITD testing, evolution morphology recorded using a laser profilometer. Post-processing results means fractal analysis enables characterization texture basis three unique descriptors. By combining variation descriptors coefficient, influence type response usefully determined.
