A search for excited leptons in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

摘要: A search for excited leptons is carried out with the CMS detector at LHC, using 36 inverse picobarns of pp collision data recorded sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. The performed associated production a lepton and an oppositely charged to l l*, followed by decay l* gamma, resulting in gamma final state, where electron or muon. No excess events above standard model expectation observed. Interpreting findings context through four-fermion contact interactions subsequent via electroweak processes, first upper limits are reported this energy. exclusion region compositeness scale Lambda mass M(l*) parameter space extended beyond previously established limits. For M(l*), masses excluded below 1070 GeV/c^2 e* 1090 mu* 95% confidence level.
