Taxonomic resolution ofPhyllobothrium van Beneden (Cestoda: Tetraphyllidea) and a description of a new species from the leopard sharkTriakis semifasciata

摘要: Phyllobothrium riseri n. sp. is described from the leopard sharkTriakis semifasciata collected Californian coastal waters. The descriptions of type-species,Phyllobothrium lactuca, andP. serratum are amended.P. differs fromP. lactuca in having wider mature segments, a larger apical sucker and greater number testes cross-section.P. being shorter, narrower cirrus-sac smaller ovicapt. It maximum width cirrus-sac. generic diagnosis ofPhyllobothrium amended order to be consistent with these three species, genus considered monophyletic. Species inPhyllobothrium appear restricted shark species belonging family Triakidae.
