摘要: Background. Cadmium (Cd), a diffused environmental pollutant, has adverse effects on urinary apparatus. The role of flavocoxid, natural flavonoid with antioxidant activity, the morphological and biochemical changes induced in vivo by Cd mice kidney was evaluated. Methods. C57 BL/6J received 0.9% NaCl alone, flavocoxid (20 mg/kg/day i.p.) chloride (CdCl2) (2 mg/kg/day or CdCl2 plus i.p. 20 mg/kg/day for 14 days. kidneys were processed biochemical, structural, ultrastructural, morphometric evaluation. Results. treatment alone significantly increased urea nitrogen creatinine, iNOS, MMP-9, pERK 1/2 expression protein carbonyl; reduced GSH, GR, GPx; structural ultrastructural glomeruli tubular epithelium. After days treatment, administration showed an evident preservation glomerular structure ultrastructure. Conclusions. A protective against Cd-induced oxidative damages mouse demonstrated first time. Flavocoxid may have promising harmful lesions.
