摘要: The present study investigated behavioural responses of naive rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss, lake charr Salvelinus namaycush, whitefish Coregonus clupeaformis and goldfish Carassius auratus to food extracts as well selected amino acids (at 10 -6 M) related chemicals in a flow-through behaviour trough. Cysteine, the most potent olfactory stimulating acid determined electrophysiologically, enhanced locomotor activity, an initial arousal behaviour, all species examined, exactly same fashion did extracts. increased activity was followed by distinct species-specific search patterns: 1) bottom searching trout; 2) surfacing jumping charr; 3) exploratory against trough window whitefish; 4) gravel pecking goldfish. Olfactory-stimulating neutral alanine serine gustatory-stimulating imino proline were effective, varying degrees, eliciting feeding behaviour. Arginine glutamate suppressed trout, but triggered other species. Agmatine, decarboxylated arginine, stimulated tested, except trout. observed close accordance with electrophysiological threshold specificity. Together, data demonstrate that single closely initiate primarily olfaction, interchangeably complemented gustation, fishes.
