摘要: This practice review focuses on the challenges of conducting sensitive and accurate assessments relative risk for suicide attempts completed suicides. Suicide are a frequently encountered clinical crisis, assessment, management, treatment suicidal patients is one most stressful tasks clinicians. An array factors, warning signs, protective factors associated with reviewed; however, we not yet in possession evidence-based diagnostic tests that can accurately predict an individual level without also creating inordinate number false-positive predictions. Given current limitations assessment strategies, clinicians advised to keep mind contemplating under enormous psychological distress, requiring thoughtful engagement during process. overarching goal these should be conducted within therapeutic frame, which efforts made enhance alliance by negotiating collaborative approach assessing understanding why thoughts so compelling. Within this heuristic, Assessment Five-step Evaluation Triage (SAFE-T) recommended as pragmatic multidimensional protocol incorporating best known factors.
