摘要: Commercially available low frequency transducers often have a bandwidth of much less than 100%. This paper reviews the current technology for transducer construction and presents non-resonant design giving an improved performance. Small, undamped piezo-electric cubic elements 2 mm side length are used which operate below their first resonance frequency. In construction, air-backed front faces bonded to thin membrane across end enclosure 15 diameter. Using excitation signal has little energy at elements, operating range 200-500 kHz can be achieved. A single element behaves virtually as point source, but by arranging array over membrane, more collimated beam profile is obtained.
