摘要: Room-temperature reactions of the chemical warfare agents VX, GD, and HD with nanosize CaO (AP-CaO), commercial have been studied using solid-state MAS NMR. VX GD hydrolyze to yield surface-bound complexes nontoxic ethyl methylphosphonate pinacolyl methylphosphonate, respectively. The kinetics are characterized by an initial fast reaction followed a slower, diffusion-limited reaction. Similar behavior is observed for on either dried or hydrated AP-CaO CaO. On partially (but not CaO), rather steady-state elimination HCl occurs after induction period. This attributed acid-catalyzed surface reconstruction (to regenerate fresh surface) formation CaCl2, which known be more reactive than product distribution about 80% divinyl sulfide 20% thiodiglycol and/or sulfonium ions, apparently reside as alkoxides.
