摘要: AP selection problem is one of the major issues in infrastructure WLANs. Recently, many authors literatures have proposed a novel scheme which can provide better performance (e.g. aggregated throughput, load balancing) than RSS-based legacy scheme. However, they presented schemes with non-practical assumptions, e.g. assumed that adjacent APs are configured orthogonal channels and each station transmits data frame using single rate. As we studied, BSSs' transmission multiple rates impact network's performance. In this paper, propose practical traffic-aware considering factors previously mentioned. By exploiting Retry field MAC header as feedback about channel conditions, infer network client select ‘best’ terms expected throughput. We demonstrate effectiveness our solution by comparing to existing approaches through ns-2 simulation.
