摘要: Increased oxidative stress and impaired heat shock protein (HSP) synthesis may contribute to diabetic nephropathy. The question of whether 8-week thiol antioxidant alpha-lipoic acid (LA) supplementation modulates HSP response was studied in the kidney streptozotocin-induced (SID) nondiabetic rats. SID caused a histological mesangial expansion, tubular dilatation, increased levels transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), mediator glomerulosclerosis. 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) adduct formation, marker lipid peroxidation, heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), also stress. Moreover, DNA-binding activity factor-1 (HSF-1) expression 60 (HSP60). In contrast, LA partially reversed findings glomerulosclerosis decreased TGF-β.
