Amplifying Characteristics of Er3+/Yb3+ Co-Doped Parallel-Cascaded Double Microring Resonators

摘要: Abstract In terms of the coupled mode theory, formulas transfer function and output power gain are presented for an Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped parallel-cascaded double microring resonator. Around pump wavelength 0.98 μm central signal 1.55 μm, analysis is performed dependence on power, dopant concentration, amplitude coupling ratio, ring spacing. The results show that this device much larger than waveguide amplifier with identical lengths. case ratio κ = 0.064, spacing L2 10π R, Pp0 8 mW, Ps0 37.2 μW, Er3+ ion concentration NEr 1 × 26 m−3, Yb3+ NYb 3 27 can produce higher from 11.9 dB even up to 70 dB.
