摘要: Background: Mental health service providers have seen an increased need for demonstrating symptom reductions during the past decade. This change has been particularly evident to those working in inpatient psychiatry facilities where there is considerable a brief, easily administered, and low-cost means of tracking change. The current study evaluated utility using Symptom Checklist-90 Revised patients admitted rural adolescent adult units. Method: Consecutive admissions (N = 104) 125) units located community hospital served as subjects. mean length stay was 8 days adolescents 7 adults. Patients were administered at admission just prior discharge. Psychiatrists provided DSM-IV primary diagnosis each patient. Results: Principal component analyses on both discharge subscales resulted 1-factor solution. Repeated-measures ANOVAs demonstrated Global Severity Index be sensitive measure clinically significant admission-to-discharge Analyses psychiatrist-assigned diagnoses revealed that all diagnostic categories evinced reductions.
