摘要: Salinity problems are primarily associated with coastal areas and irrigated lands in the dry zone of Sri Lanka, where total area is about 0.5 million hectares. Since irrigation has been practiced these from ancient times, salinity might have a problem at least patches lands. With development modern networks, it anticipated that would become over years as many other countries. Only few systematic studies exist on soil salinization there no records actual extent affected by salinity, or data indicate its trend. Most available information comes sporadic surveys. Recently, however, concerns were expressed most large-scale projects face problems. Due to inadequacy related studies, problem, both economic environmental terms, unknown Lanka. This study focused Mahaweli scheme. The project one largest South East Asia. attempted measure impact rice production environment. It also assessed optimal control farm level for better water management protection.
