Thermal behavior of some long-chain quaternary ammonium salts

摘要: Abstract In the present work synthesis and thermal behavior of some long - chain quaternary ammonium salts functionalized in polar head, formula C12H25 N + (CH3)2 RBr−, are reported. It has been found that these form, through a solid-solid transition, peculiar solid phase liquid-like character they also exhibit improved stability compared to non-functionalized n-alkyltrimethylammonium bromides. Furthermore thermodynamic parameters compounds dependent complicated way on nature functional group.
