摘要: Objective To investigate the role of novel cytokine high mobility group box chromosomal protein 1 (HMGB-1) in pathogenesis cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE). Methods Punch biopsy specimens lesional and unaffected skin from 10 patients with CLE 3 healthy control subjects were investigated. Immunohistochemical staining for HMGB-1, tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) was performed on consecutive sections. Analysis single-nucleotide polymorphisms −308 TNF DNA extracted peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Results An altered expression HMGB-1 observed both epidermis dermal infiltrates skin. Expression dermis increased (P < 0.01 P 0.001, respectively, versus skin), translocation to cytoplasm as well extracellular presence secreted found. Increased levels TNFα IL-1β also 0.05, skin). The carrier frequency −308A polymorphism 80% subacute CLE, but this not related higher group. Conclusion The amount lesions indicates that is involved inflammatory process CLE. may form a proinflammatory loop since they can induce release each other. by immunostaining keratinocytes be an yet unrecognized source underscoring target organ rheumatoid autoimmune process.
