摘要: OBJECTIVE: To analyse the association of time watching television (TV) and physical activity with obesity in Mediterranean area Spain highest prevalence obesity. DESIGN: Cross-sectional study. SETTING: Valencia Region Spain. PARTICIPANTS: A representative sample 814 men 958 women, aged 15 y older, participating a Health Nutrition Survey conducted 1994. MEASUREMENTS: Height weight were directly measured during home interviews. The outcome measure was obesity, defined as body mass index ≥30 kg/m2. Covariates self-reported hours TV viewing, habits, sleeping duration, age, gender, educational level, smoking marital status. Prevalence odds ratios (POR) estimated by logistic regression used effect measures. RESULTS: Obese people reported to spend more (mean±s.d.: 3.6±1.5 h/day) than non-obese ones (3.0±1.4 h/day), less time. In multivariate analysis, associated at work. People ≥4 h/day showed higher adjusted ratio POR=2.38 (95% confidence interval, 1.54–3. 69), compared those ≤1 h/day. who sleep ≥9 h/day presented lower POR ≤6 h/day, POR=0.43 (0.27–0.67). Statistically significant dose–responses observed for both associations, so that 30% each hour increased viewing 24% additional addition, lowest among single people, physically active work, high level. CONCLUSION: Time spent low work related adults. inverse between duration deserves further research.
