Facial Expressions and Ability to Recognize Emotions From Eyes or Mouth in Children

摘要: This research aims to contribute the literature on ability recognize anger, happiness, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust and neutral emotions from facial information. By investigating children's performance in detecting these a specific face region, we were interested know whether children would show differences recognizing expressions upper or lower face, if any difference between regions depended emotion question. For this purpose, group of 6-7 year-old was selected. Participants asked by using labeling task with three stimulus types (region eyes, mouth, full face). The findings seem indicate that correctly basic when pictures represent whole except for expression, which recognized eyes. Children are also able identify anger eyes as well face. With respect gender differences, there is no female advantage emotional recognition. results significant interaction 'gender x region' only emotions.
