On-off intermittent regulation of plasma turbulence

摘要: A standard low-dimensional model of the dynamical regulation plasma turbulence including zonal flows is considered in a statistical sense by taking into account fluctuating nature source driving system. The probability distribution functions turbulent kinetic energy and are derived. dynamics become on-off intermittent close to bifurcation thresholds. In its low confinement mode, without flows, system can also display random finite amplitude burst marginal stability, result reminiscent self-organized-criticality paradigm applied flux-driven turbulence.
