Synthesis, characterization and photocatalytic performance of W, N, S-tri-doped TiO2 under visible light irradiation

摘要: Abstract W–S–N-tri-doped TiO 2 photocatalysts (WSNTiO ) were prepared by a simple sol–gel method. Tungstic acid, sodium sulfate and urea used as tungsten, sulfur nitrogen sources, respectively. The morphology microstructure characteristics of the evidenced means XRD, BET, TEM, SEM UV–vis DRS techniques. XRD results show that main crystal phase samples is anatase. It was also found tri-doping increases its BET specific surface area from 95 to 121 m ·g −1 . Besides, it shown narrows band gap effectively, which has greatly improved photocatalytic activity in visible light region. tri-doped powders compared bi-doped ones through degradation Congo Red (CR) under irradiation. Thus, 0.5% W–N–S–TiO heat treated at 450 °C showed best pure , Degussa P25, co-doped (WNTiO WSTiO ). In particular, rate approximately 99% reached after only 35 min irradiation presence WNSTiO Total organic carbon (TOC) removal CR up 72% confirmed significant mineralization photocatalyst.
