摘要: Abstract The present study focuses on the heat transfer enhancement in sudden expansion channel (SEC) which is to be employed as solar water collector using vortex generator (VG) at different angles of attack. Expansion ratio (ER) SEC ascribed 2:1. analysis carried out for various aspect ratios (AR) ∞, 8 and 6 SEC. angle attack (β) VG varied from 30° 90° by an increment 15° each case. results this are compared with that simple rectangular (SRC) VG. flow assumed laminar, steady incompressible Reynolds (Re) number range investigated. Finite volume based commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code FLUENT 16.2 has been used solving three dimensional governing equations. investigation shows VGs very effective than SRC enhancing against pressure drop all Heat rate increases increase AR while change friction factor negligible except higher However increasing VG, rise. reveal due combined effect longitudinal separation. β = 30° 60° found have optimal characteristics
