摘要: Study Objectives: There is a long-standing controversy surrounding the existence of dream experiences during non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep. Previous studies have not answered question whether this “NREM dream” originates from NREM sleep mechanism because subject might simply be recalling preceding rapid (REM) Methods: We scheduled 11 healthy men to repeat 20-minute nap trials separated by 40-minute periods enforced wakefulness across period 3 days. At end trial, each participant questions regarding formal aspects his using structured interviews. Results: obtained total 172 reports after naps containing REM (REM naps) and 563 consisting only (NREM naps). Dream were less remarkable in quantity, vividness, emotion than those more frequently morning hours when occurrences highest. Conclusions: These results suggest that polysomnographic manifestations are required for but mechanisms driving alter morning. A subcortical activation similar may occur human most likely occur, resulting
