A voltage divider strategy for reducing the hot spot temperature in partially shaded solar panels

摘要: Over-temperature occurring in silicon solar panels, subject to partial shadowing, are reduced by means of a series connected voltage divider which sustains part the reverse developing across shaded cells. The circuit is based on power MOSFET driven output panel. When panel uniformly illuminated ON state and does not affect operation module, while, when partially shaded, decreases, enters pinch-off mode, thus subtracting its from cell. Experiments performed commercial showed one third reduction cells, with hot spot temperature about 25°C.
