摘要: Objective: To identify risk factors for serious farm work related injury among men. Methods: A case–control study was conducted in Victoria, Australia. Eligible cases (n = 252) were males aged ⩾16 years injured while working on a and scoring 2 or higher the Abbreviated Injury Scale. Non-fatal identified presentation to hospital. Fatal (next of kin) recruited via Coroner’s Office. Two age-matched controls per case by telephone. Data collected with structured telephone questionnaire. Logistic regression used compare between controls, adjusting design average weekly hours worked. Results: The most common external causes machinery (26%), falls (19%), transport (18%), animals (17%) being struck an object (11%). Increased observed employee/contractor (odds ratio 1.8, 95% CI 1.2 2.7), not having attended training courses (1.5, 1.0 2.1), absence roll-over protective structures all/almost all tractors (2.5, 1.7 3.8), personal equipment chemical use (4.7, 1.6 13.9) low annual income AUD$5000 less (2.7, 1.3 5.6). Decreased several health characteristics some characteristics. Conclusion: We possibly relevant prevention programs. However, other associated suggesting these may be as important previously hypothesised.
