Treatment of colorectal cancer in the elderly.

摘要: Colorectal cancer has a high incidence, and approximately 60% of colorectal patients are older than 70, with this incidence likely increasing in the near future. Elderly (> 70-75 years age) very heterogeneous group, ranging from fit to frail. Traditionally, these have often been under-treated recruited less frequently clinical trials younger patients, thus under-represented publications about treatment. Recent studies suggest that elderly can be treated same way as their counterparts, but treatment frail comorbidities is still matter controversy. Many factors should taken into account, including fitness for treatment, wishes patient family, quality life. This review will focus on existing evidence surgical, oncologic, palliative over 70 old cancer. Careful assessment necessary order individualize approach, rely multidisciplinary process. More well-designed controlled needed population.
