摘要: A large complex water quality data set of a polluted river, the Tay Ninh River, was evaluated to identify its problems, assess spatial variation, determine main pollution sources, and detect relationships between parameters. This river is highly with organic substances, nutrients, total iron. An important problem inhibition nitrification. For evaluation, different statistical techniques including cluster analysis (CA), discriminant (DA), principal component (PCA) were applied. CA clustered 10 stations into three groups corresponding extreme, high, moderate pollution. DA used only seven parameters differentiate defined clusters. The PCA resulted in four components. first PC related conductivity, NH4-N, PO4-P, TP determines nutrient second represents iron illustrated third having strong positive loadings for TSS Fe. fourth explains dependence DO on nitrate production. nitrification further investigated by PCA. results showed clear negative correlation NH4-N NO3-N. influence pH oxidation could not be detected because very low rate due constantly effect wastewater discharge high concentrations. are deepening understanding governing processes hence manage basins sustainably.
