Hopping conduction and possible Coulomb gap effects in manganese and zinc ferrous ferrite

摘要: Abstract Electrical conductivity and thermopower measurements have been made on zinc manganese ferrous ferrite, ZnxFe3−xO4 MnxFe3 −xO4 with 0 ≤ X < 1, in the temperature range 100–300 K. The results for 0.5 are tentatively interpreted terms of formation a Coulomb gap at low temperatures an energy band localized states. For ≥ electrical is symptomatic nearest-neighbour hopping, varies as In c where c=(1 − X)/2. bandwidth conduction states has extracted from data shown to be roughly proportional standard deviation Zn Mn distributions [X(1 X)1/2. A polaron contribution activation approximately 0.03 eV room deduced Mn0.8Fe2.2O4 Mn0.8Fe2.1O4.
