摘要: Brewer’s spent grain is the major by-product in beer production. It is produced large quantities (20 kg per 100 liters of beer) throughout year at a low cost or no cost, and due to its high protein and carbohydrates content it can be used as raw material biotechnology. Biotechnological processes based on renewable agro-industrial by-products have ecological (zero CO2 emission, eco-friendly by-products) economical (cheap materials reduction storage costs) advantages. The use of brewer’s still limited, being basically animal feed. Researchers are trying improve application by finding alternative uses apart from current general an animal feed. Its possible applications human nutrition, in biotechnology, energy production, charcoal paper manufacture, as brick component, adsorbent. In biotechnology could substrate for cultivation microorganisms enzyme additive yeast carrier fermentation, production lactic acid, bioethanol, biogas, phenolic acids, xylitol, pullulan. Some described this article including pre-treatment conditions (different procedures for polysaccharides, hemicelluloses, cellulose hydrolysis), working microorganisms, fermentation parameters obtained yields. chemical composition varies according barley variety, harvesting time, malting mashing conditions, quality type unmalted lignocellulosic rich fibre, which account approximately 20 70% composition, respectively.
