摘要: When querying XML collections, users cannot always express their need in a precise way. Systems should therefore support vagueness at both the content and structural level of queries. This paper present relevance-oriented method for ranking components. The aim here is to evaluate whether hints help better answer user needs. We experiment (within INEX framework) with needs expressed flexible way (i.e ou without hints). Results show that they clearly improve performance, even if are an ”artificial way”. Relevance seems be closely linked structure. Moreover, too complex do not lead results.
