摘要: The current status of the knowledge systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in domestic animals is presented this chapter. Particularly case dog, striking similarities with disease humans are evident. study spontaneous diseases great value research into pathogenesis and treatment many humans. Although generally more expensive than use traditional animal models, despite mounting sensitivities regarding dogs cats medical research, their close environmental proximity to outbred nature make them particularly appropriate for such investigations. This most certainly true autoimmune diseases. Investigations canine immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, lymphocytic thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, (SLE), name but a few, have all contributed enhanced understanding counterpart significant work, however, has probably involved investigations SLE. Although, contributions enhancing clinical aspects continue on both sides Atlantic, in-depth commenced United States late 1960s, recent years it taken place largely France Scandinavia.
