摘要: Geomorphologic information, topographic maps (dated 1967), aerial photographs 1999 and 2008), spatial analysis procedures were used to investigate a 90 km long coastal sector in South Sicily (Italy). Information was obtained on erosion/accretion areas, general sediment circulation pattern littoral cell distribution. Human-made structures natural headlands constituted important artificial limits dividing morphological cells. Ports harbours observed at Scoglitti, Punta Secca, Marina di Ragusa, Donnalucata Pozzallo. Most of them worked as “transit” which interrupted predominant, eastward directed sedimentary transport, this way generating accretion updrift (west) side mentioned erosion downdrift (east) side. During the 1967–2008 period, about 62,000 m2 42,000 beach surface respectively formed Scoglitti ports. The construction Pozzallo port gave rise formation “convergent” limit favoured large (94,000 m2) east structure. Zafaglione, P. Braccetto Cava d’Aliga. knowledge distribution acquires great importance for appropriate management processes may be mitigated installing by-passing systems ports carrying out nourishment works eroding often located (when these work transit limits) central part cells convergent limits).
