摘要: A primary focus of this volume centers on a pivotal domain the stress process; namely, those conditions having capacity to blunt what would otherwise be severe stressful impact difficult life experiences. Generically, these are referred as mediators (or moderators). In addition coping, they include social support, mastery or sense control, self-esteem, and, potentially, various personality dispositions. Although my attention in chapter is largely confined much discussion equally applicable other mediators. Regardless particular mediator that under study, there usually single question draws interest researcher it: Does it help account for fact people experiencing same stressors differentially affected by them?
