Coercive Treatment of Substance Abusing Criminal Offenders

摘要: Increasingly large numbers of criminal offenders are being legally mandated to receive substance abuse treatment in lieu prosecution or incarceration. It, therefore, behooves forensic mental health professionals update their understanding whether coerced works. There is a discernible bias among many that coercive ineffective repugnant. Yet, emerging evidence from the outcome literature reveals that, under some circumstances, can be effective and acceptable clients. This article briefly reviews most current findings this area.
