摘要: Studies of possible localization phonons in nanomaterials have gained importance recent years the context thermoelectricity where phonon-localization can reduce thermal conductivity, thereby improving efficiency thermoelectric devices. However, despite significant efforts, has not yet been observed experimentally real materials. Here we propose that surface-roughness dominated nanowires are ideal candidates to observe phonons, and show numerically space time evolution energy generated by a heat-pulse injected at given point shows clear signatures phonon localization. We suggest same configuration might allow experimental observation phonons. Our results confirm universality regime proposed earlier, which allows us characterize strength disorder single parameter combining width wire as well mean height corrugation its correlation length.
