摘要: This paper compares people’s attitudes to inequality at the end of 1990s qualities they perceive are needed get ahead, role government and rewards for employment in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) Western countries. Data (from 1999 International Social Survey Programme) suggest that overall, people CEE express substantially more ‘egalitarian’ than those West, even after 10 years economic adjustment market economy. The research produces important messages policymakers, underlining degree support public action concerning redistribution warning them extent which inequalities felt society, especially perceived be generated by ‘unfair’ means.
