摘要: This review collects evidence about immune and inflammatory functions of platelets from a clinician’s point view. A focus on clinically relevant aims at stimulating further research, because the complexity platelet immunity is incompletely understood not yet translated into patient care. Platelets promote chronic reactions (e.g. in atherosclerosis), modulate acute disorders such as sepsis other infections (participating host defense against pathogens), contribute to exacerbations autoimmune conditions (like asthma or arthritis). It would hence be obsolete restrict description thrombosis haemostasis – clearly are most abundant cells with circulation.
