摘要: In recent years, 'stimulus competition' in the study of acquired behavior has referred exclusively to (a) associative competition between cues trained compound (e.g. overshadowing and blocking). Rarely cited are older experiments cast verbal learning tradition, now complemented with data from humans rats Pavlovian preparations, that demonstrate (b) separately a common outcome (i.e. proactive retroactive interference). Similarly neglected numerous examples (c) outcomes cue within literature (also interference) as well counterconditioning). Recent (d) compound, thereby completing four cells 2x2 matrix (competing stimuli together vs. apart competing being or outcomes) which highlights ubiquitous nature stimulus interference/competition. Most contemporary theories can account for phenomena one at most two this matrix. Whether mechanism underlies all is currently unclear, but until such time preclude mechanism, parsimony encourages efforts develop model encompasses cells. Here we offer tentative addresses cells, albeit processes.
