摘要: Abstract Tropical cloud clusters that occurred during the Australian Monsoon Experiment (AMEX) are composited and compared to a composite of GARP Atlantic (GATE) systems. The analysis focuses on evolution life cycles upon vertical heating profiles. AMEX GATE systems were comparable duration magnitude, although former produced more rainfall. However, convective maximum in middle troposphere showed only small variations with height. In contrast began concentrated lower exhibited marked upward shift time. always had greater fractions their total at levels than did systems, presumably due differences large flow. stratification atmosphere both regions resembles reversible moist adiabat pseudoadiabat above freezing level.
