摘要: The synthesis is reported of new liquid crystals incorporating the 1,4‐disubstituted bicyclo[2.2.2]octane ring and a series substituents in terminal position on molecular core. nature substituent varied from apolar with small dipole moment to polar strong moment. angle respect axis also varied. An updated order group efficiency for nematic phase provided. shields halogen lateral phenyl rings attached bicyclooctane degree reduces steric efects these substituents, giving rise high relative nematic–isotropic transition temperatures.
