摘要: With improving surgical care yielding better outcomes, patients who have undergone a cardiac operation are surviving longer, and surgeons will inevitably face an increasing number of reoperative procedures whether it is for ablation atrial fibrillation (AF) or other pathology. General approaches to reoperation resternotomy covered in sections, but worth emphasizing that approximately 10% all adult operations involve redo sternotomy, which carries 8% risk significant hemorrhage (J Am Coll Surg 206: 993–9, 2008). Thus, important weigh the potential risks benefits additional procedures, such as AF, these higher than normal morbidity mortality.
