Physical and Luminescence Study of Nd3+ ions doped Phosphate Glass for Lasing Applications

摘要: Abstract Lithium gadolinium phosphate glass doped with Neodymium oxide was prepared by conventional melt quenching technique chemical composition of 17Li2O3:17Gd2O3 :(66-x) P2O5:xNd2O3 where x=0.0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0mol%. The physical and luminescent properties the are systematically analyzed for solid stat lighting applications. density, molar volume refractive index measured samples. density show increasing trend incrassating concentration Nd3+ ions while decrease ions. absorption spectra under Uv-Vis NIR region. emission our is also recorded which three dominant peaks at 904, 1063 1330nm correspond to 4I9/2, 4I11/2 4I13/2 transitions respectively. Judd-Ofelt theory had been used obtain J-O parameters (Ω2, Ω4 Ω6), oscillator strength, radiative transition probability, stimulated cross-section branching ratio. > Ω6 Ω2 in agreement other studies.
