Selection and delineation of target volumes in head and neck tumors: beyond ICRU definition.

摘要: Implementation of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), which permits far greater control dose distribution, requires proper selection delineation target volumes, adequate setup uncertainties. The present manuscript intends to review available data on volumes for primary tumor neck nodes. Setup uncertainties how they influence the PTV are also discussed.
