摘要: Publisher Summary The chapter reviews the correlations, both stoicheiometric and regulatory, that have been reported between concentrations of different adenine nucleotides occurrence or rates integrated functions such as growth production storage compounds. roles may be conveniently classified under three headings. First, they are intermediates in biosynthesis nucleic acids histidine, also nucleotide cofactors Nicotinamide dinucleotide (NAD), phosphate (NADP), flavin (FAD), coenzyme A. Second, constitute an energy-transducing system stoicheiometrically couples all metabolic processes thus plays central role correlation metabolism. Third, kinetically regulate activities a large number enzyme reactions probably sequences. In serving intermediates, adenylate do not differ principle from dozens other compounds, but second third functional categories unique. Metabolism is organized around these compounds must taken into account study nearly every aspect biology. It has become apparent associated kinetic regulation equally unique, ubiquitous, important. All pathways related through system, because either utilize regenerate ATP. logical necessity, if sequences to mutually regulated so maintain biological homeostasis, regulated, directly indirectly, by same coupling system.
