摘要: Interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) are mesoderm-derived mesenchymal found in the smooth muscle layers gastrointestinal tract. They contribute to normal function gut by generating rhythmic electrical activity, as intermediaries neuromuscular signalling, altering membrane potential adjacent and responding mechanical stretch. Depletion ICC is associated with several motility disorders including diabetic gastroparesis, slow transit constipation intestinal pseudo-obstruction. This chapter reviews information that can be obtained from measuring characterizing networks interstitial health disease, applications computer modelling about how mathematical might inform further efforts characterize and/or reverse network depletion. We describe appropriate techniques for tissue collection handling when investigating effects on networks. Methods identifying, accurately quantifying mapping presented together new analyses identify changes geometry well density Finally we discuss relationship between alterations show virtual could used predict those relationships.
