摘要: Abstract The toxic trace metal Cd 2+ has been used to select a variant (designated r ) of the Chinese hamster cell (line CHO) resistant growth-inhibitory and cytotoxic effects . Resistance -mediated cytotoxicity is not due decreased capability accumulate since uptake in indistinguishable from that CHO at both subtoxic exposures. Comparison relative capacities these two types induce specific low molecular weight -binding proteins (metallothioneins) reveals an increased capacity metallothionein sequester intracellular metallothioneins. These results suggest greater competence major factor -resistant phenotype variant.
