摘要: To describe our institutional experience with post-mortem computed tomography (PMCT) and its impact on decedent injury severity score (ISS) to assess the adequacy of emergently placed support medical devices. Over a 5-year period, patients who died at or soon after arrival have physical exam findings inconsistent death were candidates for inclusion. Whole body CT was performed without contrast devices left in place. ISS calculated PMCT findings. results compared autopsy findings, if performed. The location documented. A total 38 decedents underwent PMCT, including 53.1% males mean age 42.0 years. Pre-PMCT based alone 5.2 (range 0–25), 16 ISS = 0. Post-PMCT using additional imaging data 50.3 21–75), 15 = 50 greater. Nearly half (47.4%) had least one device that either malpositioned suboptimally positioned, 26.3% airway devices, 10.3% intra-osseous catheters, 100% decompressive needle thoracotomies. adds value identifying injuries otherwise may gone undetected lieu formal autopsy, thus creating more complete trauma registry. identification lines tubes allows educational feedback first responders trainees. Institutions low rate victims benefit from developing program.
