摘要: Abstract Cr2O3 is a well-known corrosion resistant oxide used in refractory applications. However, it can oxidize into toxic and water-soluble Cr(VI) compounds upon reaction with calcium aluminate cement phases the presence of oxygen, which subsequently causes disposal problems after use. This study describes extent to chromium spinel Mg(Al,Cr)2O4 phase be oxidized when reacts C12A7, CA, CA2 free CaO at 1300 °C air, using XRD, XPS leaching tests (TRGS 613 standard) as analytical tools. On CaO, Mg(Al,CrIII)2O4 mainly transformed hauyne (Ca4Al6CrVIO16) Ca5Cr3O12 contains both Cr(IV) Cr(VI). The C12A7 CA also resulted formation Ca4Al6CrO16. Conversely, only trace amount Water-soluble leached large quantities (>100 mg/L) from samples where reacted either or CA. Almost no sample standard TRGS leach test, but significant was released solution HCl for 12 h. Both present dissolved acidic solution. Only small that CA2, even prolonged leach. Cr(III) very stable does not distilled water
