摘要: Strains of workers that were high or low in their retinue attraction response to queen mandibular pheromone (QMP) a laboratory bioassay fostered queenless colonies measure differential queen-rearing behaviors. High-strain spent proportionately more time working on and cells than low-strain workers, there significant age by strain effects for rearing cells. No interindividual differences detected among the strains tendency rear queens. Results from this experiment suggest QMP may be mechanism upon which selection acts division labor.
