Deep-sea food falls: first observation of a natural event in the Arctic Ocean

摘要: Concentrations of scavengers attracted by bait in the deep sea are documented time-lapse photography and results baited traps. During a remotely operated vehicle deployment Molloy Deep, deepest depression Fram Strait, carcass natant decapod, Pasiphaea tarda Kroyer, 1845, was discovered at 79°08.4′N 002°49.85′E depth 5,551 m. The covered hundreds individuals Uristes sp., scavenging lysianassoid amphipod. After documentation this event, both majority amphipods were collected. This is first reported observation sampling an ongoing feeding process on natural food fall sea.
